ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

1. Introduction & Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP” or “Policy”) governs the conduct of all users, vendors, sellers, partners, and other parties using the JulineMart platform. By registering an account, listing products, or otherwise engaging with JulineMart, you agree to comply fully with this Policy.

Authority to Enforce:
JulineMart reserves the right to:

  • Monitor compliance with this Policy
  • Remove non-compliant listings immediately
  • Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
  • Withhold payouts pending investigation
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Take legal action for serious violations

No Warning Required:
Violations may result in immediate action without prior notice, particularly for illegal, harmful, or high-risk activities.

2. Scope & Applicability

This Policy applies to:

  • Customers browsing or purchasing products
  • Registered account holders
  • Guest checkout users

2.2 Vendors & Sellers

  • Independent merchants listing products
  • Businesses registered on the platform
  • Individual sellers
  • Wholesale suppliers

2.3 Partners & Service Providers

  • Logistics and courier partners
  • Payment processors
  • Marketing affiliates
  • Third-party integrators

3. JulineMart’s Business Model & Logistics

3.1 Centralized Marketplace
JulineMart operates as a multi-vendor marketplace where:

  • Vendors list products independently
  • JulineMart processes all payments
  • Platform manages end-to-end fulfillment
  • Customers interact with a unified platform experience

3.2 Hub-Based Fulfillment
Critical Requirement: All customer deliveries are managed exclusively by JulineMart through our hub-and-spoke logistics model:

Process Flow:

  1. Customer places order and payment is confirmed
  2. Vendor receives order notification
  3. Vendor delivers product to nearest JulineMart hub within 24-48 hours
  4. JulineMart team inspects, packages, and processes order
  5. Approved courier partners handle final delivery to customer

3.3 Direct Shipping Prohibition
Vendors are strictly prohibited from:

  • Shipping products directly to customers
  • Arranging independent delivery services
  • Bypassing JulineMart fulfillment centers
  • Providing personal delivery

Why This Matters:
This model ensures:

  • Consistent quality control and packaging standards
  • Unified tracking and customer communication
  • Platform protection and dispute resolution capability
  • Compliance with payment processor requirements
  • Protection for both customers and vendors

4. Vendor Responsibilities & Standards

4.1 Registration & Verification
Vendors must:

  • Provide accurate business and identity information
  • Submit required verification documents
  • Maintain up-to-date contact details
  • Verify bank account information for payouts
  • Accept terms and conditions of sale

4.2 Product Listing Requirements Vendors must ensure:

  • Accurate Descriptions: Complete, truthful product information
  • Clear Photography: High-quality images showing actual product
  • Correct Specifications: Accurate dimensions, weight, materials
  • Honest Pricing: Fair and transparent pricing
  • Availability: Only list products in stock or with short lead times
  • Legal Compliance: Products meet Nigerian regulatory requirements

4.3 Order Fulfillment Standards Vendors are required to:

  • Acknowledge orders within 1 hour of notification
  • Prepare products within 24-48 hours
  • Deliver to JulineMart hub within 24-48 hours
  • Package items securely to prevent damage
  • Include all product components and accessories
  • Respond to customer inquiries within 2 hours

4.4 Quality Assurance Products must:

  • Match listing descriptions and images
  • Be genuine and authentic (no counterfeits)
  • Function as intended (no defects)
  • Be safe for use as advertised
  • Meet Nigerian quality standards where applicable

4.5 Pricing & Commission Compliance

  • Accept 5% platform commission on all sales
  • Price products fairly and consistently
  • No price manipulation or artificial inflation
  • Transparent about additional fees (if any)
  • Honor listed prices for confirmed orders

4.6 Customer Communication Vendors must:

  • Respond professionally to customer inquiries
  • Provide accurate product information
  • Update order status promptly
  • Cooperate with return and refund processes
  • Maintain respectful communication

4.7 Prohibited Vendor Conduct Vendors must not:

  • Contact customers outside the platform (except for legitimate order issues)
  • Request direct payments or payments outside JulineMart
  • Encourage customers to leave platform for purchases
  • Share customer information with third parties
  • Engage in review manipulation or fake ratings
  • Operate multiple accounts without authorization

5. Prohibited Products & Services

The following categories are strictly prohibited on JulineMart and will result in immediate account termination and possible legal action:

5.1 Illegal Items & Criminal Goods

Absolutely Forbidden:

  • Illegal Drugs: Narcotics, cannabis, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia
  • Stolen Property: Any item obtained through theft or burglary
  • Counterfeit Goods: Fake designer items, replica products, unauthorized copies
  • Pirated Media: Bootleg movies, music, software, games
  • Fake Documents: Forged certificates, diplomas, licenses, IDs, passports
  • Hacking Tools: Malware, spyware, account hacking services, DDoS tools
  • Fraud Devices: Card skimmers, cloning devices, phishing kits

Why Prohibited:
Violates Nigerian federal law, international agreements, and payment processor terms.

5.2 Weapons & Dangerous Items

Not Permitted:

  • Firearms: Guns, rifles, pistols, shotguns (licensed or unlicensed)
  • Ammunition: Bullets, shells, cartridges, gunpowder
  • Explosives: Bombs, grenades, TNT, C4, detonators
  • Fireworks: Firecrackers, rockets, sparklers, pyrotechnics
  • Weapons: Knives (above legal limit), swords, machetes, brass knuckles
  • Self-Defense Tools: Tasers, stun guns, pepper spray, tear gas
  • Combat Equipment: Body armor, military gear (unless licensed)

Why Prohibited:
Controlled under Nigerian Firearms Act, poses safety risks, violates courier policies.

5.3 Regulated Medical & Health Products

Restricted/Prohibited:

  • Prescription Medications: Antibiotics, painkillers, controlled drugs requiring prescriptions
  • Medical Devices: Surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment without NAFDAC approval
  • Unapproved Supplements: Products without proper registration or making medical claims
  • Miracle Cures: Items claiming to cure diseases without scientific backing
  • Controlled Substances: Anabolic steroids, performance-enhancing drugs
  • Raw Chemicals: Laboratory chemicals, compounds for drug synthesis

Why Prohibited:
Requires NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) approval, poses health risks, violates pharmacy regulations.

Permitted Alternatives:

  • Over-the-counter medications with NAFDAC registration
  • Licensed health supplements (properly labeled)
  • First-aid kits and basic health products

5.4 Adult & Sexual Content

Not Allowed:

  • Pornography: Explicit videos, magazines, images
  • Sex Toys: Adult devices, intimate products
  • Escort Services: Sexual services or companionship for payment
  • Adult Entertainment: Strip club vouchers, adult website subscriptions
  • Explicit Content: Digital or physical sexually explicit material

Why Prohibited:
Violates Nigerian decency laws, payment processor restrictions, platform family-friendly policy.

5.5 Gambling, Betting & Games of Chance

Prohibited:

  • Betting Services: Sports betting, online gambling platforms
  • Casino Products: Slot machines, poker chips (for real money gambling)
  • Lottery Tickets: National lottery, scratch cards, raffle tickets
  • Gaming Tokens: Virtual currency for gambling sites
  • Prediction Services: Paid “sure bet” or “guaranteed win” schemes

Why Prohibited:
Requires gaming license from National Lottery Regulatory Commission, financial risk, potential for fraud.

5.6 Financial Schemes & Investment Fraud

Not Permitted:

  • Ponzi Schemes: Investment programs with unrealistic returns
  • Pyramid Schemes: Referral-only income models
  • Get-Rich-Quick: Guaranteed profit schemes, overnight wealth programs
  • Forex Signals: Paid trading signals without proper registration
  • Cryptocurrency Trading: Unregulated crypto investment schemes
  • Multi-Level Marketing: Schemes primarily based on recruitment

Why Prohibited:
Violates SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) regulations, high fraud risk, consumer protection.

5.7 Hate, Violence & Exploitation

Zero Tolerance:

  • Hate Speech: Materials promoting discrimination, racism, xenophobia
  • Extremist Content: Terrorist propaganda, violent extremism materials
  • Human Trafficking: Services exploiting persons, forced labor
  • Child Exploitation: Any content involving minors in sexual/harmful contexts (automatic law enforcement reporting)
  • Violence Promotion: Content inciting harm, terrorism, riots
  • Cult Materials: Items promoting harmful cults or secret societies

Why Prohibited:
Violates human rights, Nigerian criminal code, international agreements. Reported to authorities immediately.

5.8 Tobacco & Controlled Substances

Restricted:

  • Cigarettes & Tobacco: Requires special licensing
  • E-Cigarettes/Vapes: Subject to approval and age verification
  • Alcohol: Requires license, age verification, state compliance
  • Shisha/Hookah: Needs special authorization

Vendor Requirements (if approved):

  • Valid business license
  • Age verification mechanism
  • Compliance with advertising restrictions
  • Warning labels and health notices

5.9 Animals & Endangered Species

Prohibited:

  • Live Animals: Dogs, cats, exotic pets (requires specialized licensing)
  • Endangered Species: Products made from protected animals
  • Ivory & Turtle Shells: Banned under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species)
  • Animal Fighting: Cockfighting equipment, dog fighting gear

Why Prohibited:
Requires veterinary certification, violates wildlife protection laws, courier restrictions.

5.10 Hazardous & Restricted Materials

Not Allowed:

  • Toxic Chemicals: Industrial solvents, acids, poisons
  • Flammable Liquids: Gasoline, kerosene (bulk quantities), lighter fluid
  • Radioactive Materials: Any radioactive substances
  • Biohazards: Medical waste, blood products, infectious materials
  • Pressurized Containers: Aerosols (in some cases), compressed gas cylinders

Why Prohibited:
Safety risks, courier restrictions, environmental regulations.

5.11 Intellectual Property Violations

Prohibited:

  • Counterfeit Brands: Fake designer goods (Nike, Gucci, Apple, etc.)
  • Copyright Infringement: Pirated books, movies, music, software
  • Trademark Violations: Unauthorized use of brand names or logos
  • Patent Infringement: Products copying patented designs

Why Prohibited:
Violates Nigerian Copyright Act, trademark laws, international IP agreements.

6. Restricted Products (Approval Required)

Certain products may require additional review, approval, or documentation before listing:

6.1 Electronics & High-Value Items

  • Laptops, smartphones, tablets
  • Gaming consoles
  • Drones and remote-controlled devices
  • Require serial numbers and proof of authenticity

6.2 Health & Beauty

  • Cosmetics with chemical ingredients
  • Weight-loss products
  • Skin-lightening products
  • Body enhancement supplements
  • Require NAFDAC registration proof

6.3 Food & Consumables

  • Packaged foods and beverages
  • Dietary supplements
  • Baby formula and infant food
  • Require NAFDAC approval and expiry date verification

6.4 Used Electronics

  • Second-hand phones, laptops, gadgets
  • Require functionality testing and warranty disclosure
  • Refurbished items must be clearly labeled

6.5 Vehicle Parts & Accessories

  • Automotive parts
  • Motorcycle accessories
  • Require compatibility information and safety certifications

How to Request Approval:
Email info@julinemart.com with:

  • Product details and images
  • Supporting documentation (NAFDAC, certifications)
  • Business license (where applicable)
  • Reason for listing restricted item

Approval decisions are at JulineMart’s sole discretion.

7. User Conduct & Platform Behavior

7.1 Acceptable Behavior
Users must:

  • Communicate respectfully with vendors, staff, and other users
  • Provide honest reviews and feedback
  • Report suspicious or prohibited listings
  • Use the platform for legitimate commercial purposes

7.2 Prohibited Conduct Users must not:

  • Fraud & Scams: Phishing, identity theft, payment fraud
  • Account Abuse: Multiple accounts, fake accounts, impersonation
  • Review Manipulation: Fake reviews, paid ratings, review extortion
  • Platform Interference: Hacking, DDoS attacks, exploiting vulnerabilities
  • Spam: Unsolicited marketing, bulk messaging, advertisement spam
  • Harassment: Threatening, abusive, or discriminatory communication
  • Price Manipulation: Bid rigging, collusion, artificial price inflation
  • Terms Violation: Circumventing policies, creating loopholes

7.3 Intellectual Property Respect Do not:

  • Copy JulineMart’s design, branding, or content
  • Use JulineMart’s name or logo without authorization
  • Misrepresent affiliation with JulineMart
  • Scrape or harvest platform data

8. Data Privacy & Security

8.1 Vendor Data Usage Vendors accessing customer data must:

  • Use data only for order fulfillment
  • Not share customer information with third parties
  • Delete customer data after fulfillment (except as required by law)
  • Comply with Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)

8.2 Prohibited Data Activities

  • Selling customer data
  • Using customer data for marketing outside platform
  • Storing payment card information
  • Accessing data without authorization

8.3 Platform Security Users must:

  • Keep login credentials secure
  • Report security vulnerabilities responsibly
  • Not attempt unauthorized access
  • Avoid sharing accounts

9. Payment Compliance

9.1 Approved Payment Methods

  • All payments processed through Paystack only
  • No offline payments or cash transactions
  • No third-party payment redirects

9.2 Prohibited Payment Activities

  • Requesting direct bank transfers
  • Accepting payment outside the platform
  • Money laundering or structuring transactions
  • Processing payments for prohibited items
  • Using stolen payment methods

9.3 Financial Reporting Vendors must:

  • Accurately report sales income
  • Comply with tax obligations
  • Maintain proper records
  • Not evade taxes through the platform

10. Logistics & Fulfillment Rules

10.1 Hub Delivery Requirements Vendors must:

  • Deliver to designated JulineMart hub
  • Meet 24-48 hour delivery window
  • Package items securely
  • Include packing slip and order details
  • Not ship directly to customers

10.2 Courier Partner Compliance JulineMart uses approved logistics partners:

  • FEZ Delivery
  • GIG Logistics
  • RedStar Express
  • Other licensed couriers

Vendors cannot:

  • Specify alternative couriers
  • Arrange private delivery
  • Intercept shipments in transit

11. Monitoring & Enforcement

11.1 Active Monitoring
JulineMart monitors:

  • Product listings and descriptions
  • Order fulfillment rates and times
  • Customer complaints and disputes
  • Vendor communication
  • Platform activity patterns

11.2 Investigation Process When violations are suspected:

  • Account may be temporarily suspended
  • Orders may be held pending review
  • Payouts may be frozen
  • Evidence is collected and reviewed
  • Vendor is notified and given opportunity to respond (in non-urgent cases)

11.3 Enforcement Actions

Warning (First Minor Violation)

  • Email notification of violation
  • Guidance on correcting behavior
  • 7-day corrective action period

Listing Removal (Prohibited Products)

  • Immediate removal of non-compliant listings
  • Email explanation
  • Account notation

Temporary Suspension (Repeated Violations)

  • Account suspended for 7-30 days
  • No new orders accepted
  • Existing orders must be fulfilled
  • Payouts may be delayed

Permanent Termination (Serious Violations)

  • Account closed permanently
  • All listings removed
  • Final payout processed (minus penalties, if applicable)
  • IP and email address blacklisted
  • Legal action may follow

Legal Reporting (Criminal Violations)

  • Immediate reporting to:
    • Nigerian Police Force
    • EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission)
    • NAFDAC (for drug violations)
    • Interpol (for international crimes)

11.4 Payout Withholding
JulineMart may withhold vendor payouts:

  • During investigation of policy violations
  • For pending refunds or disputes
  • To cover damages or penalties
  • When required by law or court order

Funds are released once investigations are resolved, or after 90 days if no violations confirmed.

12. Reporting Violations

12.1 How to Report
If you discover prohibited products or activity:

  • Description of violation
  • Screenshots or evidence
  • Your contact information (kept confidential)

12.2 Anonymous Reporting
Anonymous reports are accepted but may be harder to investigate without follow-up.

12.3 Whistleblower Protection

  • Reports are kept confidential
  • No retaliation against reporters
  • Good-faith reporters are protected even if allegations unsubstantiated

12.4 False Reports
Making knowingly false reports may result in:

  • Account suspension
  • Termination for repeated abuse
  • Legal action in extreme cases

14. Third-Party Services & Links

Vendors may not:

  • Link to external payment processors
  • Redirect customers off-platform
  • Share links to prohibited content

14.2 Third-Party Integration
Approved integrations only:

  • Paystack for payments
  • Approved courier tracking
  • Official social media links (for business promotion)

Unauthorized integrations are prohibited.

15. Amendments to This Policy

15.1 Right to Update
JulineMart reserves the right to modify this AUP:

  • Without prior notice
  • To comply with law changes
  • To address new risks
  • To improve platform safety

15.2 Notification
Updates will be:

  • Posted with updated “Last Updated” date
  • Announced via email to vendors
  • Highlighted on platform dashboard

15.3 Continued Use = Acceptance
Using the platform after changes means you accept the revised policy.

16. Severability

If any provision of this AUP is found invalid or unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full effect.
